ANGIE MCCORMICK AND CHARLOTTE STAINSBY-MANNERS
BOTH STYLISTS AND STAFF TRAINERS AT ELITE HAVE JUST COMPLETED THEIR NVQ A1 ASSESSORS AWARD, WELL DONE GIRLS! They will now be able to support and assess apprentices within the salon in working towards their national vocational qualifications in hairdressing levels 2 & 3, ensuring that the level of training we provide meets occupational standards. Charlotte also recently completed her NVQ LEVEL 3 MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICES.
CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH JULIE ELDRETT CONSULTING
Julie Eldrett recently visited elite, all the team attended the course and had a lovely day. Julie focuses on the customer experience and the team’s frontline service delivery to ensure every individual leaves the salon feeling a million dollars.
GELISH, SOAK OFF GEL POLISH
Unlike a traditional nail polish, soak off gel polish is applied with a brush and each layer is cured under UV light to dry. Gelish polish comes in a wide array of colours and can be applied to your natural colour or over acrylic extensions. It lasts up to 2-3 weeks without peeling or chipping and soaks completely off in only 15 minutes. The UV light dries the polish within seconds which means no dry time, no smudging or dents. This is a fantastic new product for people who want their polish to last weeks but don’t worry if you like a change of colour during this time you can apply a traditional polish over the top of the Gelish to change the colour and remove it with an acetone free nail polish remover without causing any damage to the Gelish underneath.
THREADING
Threading is an ancient method of hair removal originating in the Eastern world. In more recent times it has gained popularity in Western countries. We use pure, thin, twisted cotton thread which is rolled over the eyebrow, lip, chin or other area of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove an entire row of hair, resulting in a neater line, and a smoother longer lasting finish.
LOYALTY SCHEME
You now have the chance to be rewarded for your loyalty, each time you visit the salon either to purchase products or for any of our hair or beauty services you will be rewarded points. Once you have collected ten points you will receive ten pounds off any hair or beauty service or a complimentary in-salon Kerastase ritual.
COMPETITIONS
Over the years Elite has competed and won numerous competitions across the North-East and the UK. This year we will be entering the L’Oreal colour trophy, NHF stylist of the year and the BL photo competition. We require models for each competition; you must be open to try new and exciting ideas. If you are interested in becoming an Elite model, please contact us by email at reception@elitehairbeauty.co.uk and attach a photo and contact details.
EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR 2011
Angie McCormick has been awarded Employee of the Year for the second year in a row. Angie has now been at Elite for 11 years and her dedication is second to none, she always goes that extra mile for her clients and the team. Angie supports the younger generation of stylists with all their training needs. She is consistent in everything she does and she does it so well.
TRAINEE OF THE YEAR 2011
This was such a close call that we couldn’t decide, so we awarded Trainee of the Year to Ashley Robinson and Megan Hughes. Both girls are a privilege to work with; they are both reliable and do their jobs to the best of their abilities. They are highly motivated and keen to push themselves forward. They are both due to complete their NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing in record time at the beginning of 2012.
